Our automation specialist will focus exclusively on projects using technology to improve service for our clients and increase efficiencies for our staff. Examples of possible projects include assisting with implementing a contract generation system, coordinating with vendors and coding regarding APIs, website maintenance, and using apps to import data into our systems.
 

This full-time, non-exempt, salaried position is located in our Houston office near Highway 290 and 34th street.  This is a position for an entry level college graduate, a college graduate with less than 5 years of work experience or a more seasoned professional looking to make a change.  This position includes a competitive benefits package including paid time off, health insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance and life insurance and a 401(k) plan.  Our standard work week is 37.5 hours.

 

To support your professional development, you may be eligible for paid time and/or financial incentives to obtain relevant software credentials and/or credentials related to the 401(k) industry.  This position offers a variety of career paths including advancement within the automation group or transferring to a position in our 401(k) administration group.

 

This position is eligible for either full-time work in the office or some days remote and some days in the office.  For the duration of the pandemic, it is expected that this position will work one to two days in the office and rest of the days remote to allow for adequate office space for social distancing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in projects identified by management to automate work processes, improve customer service or company image
  • Implement simple technology solutions
  • Research potential software solutions
  • Write scripts and code
  • Work with APIs
  • Report regularly to management verbally and in writing
  • Interact with our software vendors about potential automation projects
  • Communicate with IT group to ensure proposed solutions are consistent with our network standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Work, class or volunteer experience demonstrating strength in documenting processes or project management
  • Work, class or volunteer experience demonstrating interest in technology
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of current trends
  • Work, class or volunteer coding experience
  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Research and analytical skills
  • High level of critical thinking
  • Coachable
  • Work experience in a professional environment a plus
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus:  WordPress, website maintenance, QuickBase, Python, APIs, database management, Zapier, Selenium, Pandas, Reportlab, virtual machines, or writing macros in MS Excel or MS Word
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Comfortable with Zoom and conference calls as primary method of interacting with team leader
