Nova 401(k) Associates is looking to expand its special project team and is looking for an individual to work on non-routine billable special projects.  We offer a fully remote work experience and a 37.5 hour work week.  A signing bonus may be available for highly qualified applicants.
 

The position will focus on a variety of special projects work including: mergers and acquisitions, late contribution calculations, prior year compliance testing, 5500 preparation filings under the DOL’s Delinquent Filer Voluntary Compliance Program (DFVCP), controlled group coverage testing, missed deferral opportunity calculations and much more!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare prior year testing reports, 5500s, 5330s and earnings calculations as necessary
  • Work on mergers and acquisition projects
  • Communicate with clients, advisors and other team members at Nova
  • Manage and prioritize workload towards weekly goals in a results oriented team environment
  • Work with other Nova departments, record-keepers and advisors to obtain information necessary to complete project work
  • Perform work according to Nova policies and procedures
  • Consult with internal Nova staff regarding correction work
  • Attend weekly team workflow meetings with the Special Projects Team Leader


Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of 401(k) plan administration experience (10 or more years preferred)
  • Experience with ASC (preferred, particularly for less experienced applicants)
  • Experience with DGEM (preferred)
  • Experience with Pension Pro (preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing
  • Knowledge of issues that arise in qualified plans in a mergers and acquisition setting
  • Knowledge regarding self-corrections under the DFVC and EPCRS programs (preferred)
  • Knowledge of defined benefit plans a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High level of critical thinking
  • Committed to lifelong learning and coachable
  • NIPA or ASPPA credentials
  • Circular 230 professionals (such as ERPAs) preferred
  • College degree
