Nova 401(k) Associates is a rapidly growing national third-party administration firm headquartered in Houston, Texas.  We provide consulting and pension administration services for all types of qualified retirement plans.

Nova 401(k) Associates is looking to fill a Business Analyst position in our Houston, Texas office with the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule. This position currently reports to the Vice President of Finance. The ideal candidate will have experience working at a private and growing small to medium-sized company, preferably in professional services.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the operations group and the automation group to produce quarterly invoices for thousands of clients in an automated fashion
  • Work with the accounting team and the automation group to automate the process for creating and entering journal entries in QuickBooks for correct GAAP and tax revenue and expense recognition
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation including collaborating with the automation group and management to automate accounting processes and billing where feasible
  • Ensure that workflow management, the billing system, and QuickBooks are in sync
  • Work in a shared service model for several related companies
  • Handle confidential information in a prudent and responsible manner
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, computer science, data science, or information management
  • 4+ years of professional experience (preferably at a growing small-sized to medium-sized company)
  • 3+ years of basic accounting and accounts receivable experience
  • IIBA, CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA certifications
  • Experience with QuickBooks online and its apps
  • Experience establishing and documenting processes and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team leaders, staff, and shareholders
  • Familiarity with GAAP revenue recognition principles a plus
  • Project or process management credential (such as Sigma Six or PMP) a plus
  • Industry experience a plus
  • Experience collaborating with other departments to automate processes (particularly with the use of apps or APIs) preferred
  • Experience with any of the following applications or similar applications a plus: QuickBase; ChargeOver or other invoicing software; PensionPro
